Other Applications
Watchmaking
Thanks to their natural golden hue (with 2% beryllium) or coppery tone (with 0.5% beryllium) and excellent formability, Berylco beryllium copper alloys are also used in the luxury industry. Berylco alloys are employed in the production of balance wheels and winding mechanisms in watchmaking.
The high-end watchmaking industry uses Berylco alloys in various movement components, such as gear wheels, annular balance wheels in self-winding watches, and pressure-sensitive diaphragms for diving watches. The balance wheels offer excellent rotational inertia relative to their mass, while the diaphragms are capable of withstanding high pressures. Beyond their mechanical performance, Berylco alloys contribute to the aesthetic value of luxury timepieces, thanks to their elegant colors and polished surface finish.
Beryllium copper is widely used in eyewear, particularly in frame construction. It enables thinner, more lightweight designs while improving structural strength.
Plastic Molding
Thanks to their excellent thermal conductivity, Berylco alloys are used in the aluminum industry for casting molds, and in the plastics industry for injection molds, pistons, and nozzles.
Using beryllium copper in injection molding systems enables faster heat dissipation, significantly improving production cycle times.
