Berylco Safety Tools Feature Unique Properties
Nonsparking
Berylco safety tools will not emit sparks capable of igniting volatile materials, chemicals, or gases. Testing has shown that these tools cannot produce a spark even capable of igniting carbon disulfide, which has the lowest ignition point of any known substance. Berylco Safety Tools are certified nonsparking by the Factory Mutual Research Corporation (USA).
High Strength
Berylco Safety Tools are made from high-strength beryllium copper—an alloy containing approximately 1.8% beryllium. When age hardened, the alloy reaches a Rockwell hardness of C35–45 and a tensile strength of up to 1300 MPa. This allows our tools to be precisely forged, formed, machined, and hardened to strength levels that aluminum, bronze, or brass tools simply cannot achieve.
As a result, Berylco tools offer maximum torque, excellent shear strength, and outstanding wear resistance.
Nonmagnetic
Our safety tools are nonmagnetic as defined by MIL-M-19595, making them ideal for applications where magnetic interference must be avoided and eddy current effects minimized. Using our tools near or with precision magnetic equipment will not induce or aggravate electrical disturbances or disrupt instrument settings.
Corrosion Resistant
Berylco Safety Tools are durable even in harsh corrosive environments. They demonstrate excellent resistance to corrosion caused by chemicals, acids, alkalis, and atmospheric conditions that can degrade the performance of steel or iron-based tools. These tools are ideal for marine environments, where both saltwater corrosion resistance and nonsparking safety in explosive atmospheres are critical.
Lifetime Warranty
NGK Berylco manufactures a full line of over 500 safety tools, all backed by our comprehensive lifetime warranty. If a Berylco tool breaks or fails under normal use or service, we will repair or replace it free of charge.
Exceptions include damage due to misuse, abuse, or normal wear and tear.
Safe for Daily Use
Daily handling and normal use of Berylco Safety Tools present no known health risks to your personnel.
